John Murphy is a natural, inimitable story-teller, and he has many stories to tell from his long life around Montana, Colorado, and other parts of the U.S. In order to ensure that both his voice and history are always available, Sean Burnham has taken various rough recordings and edited them into a complete project. This isn't necessarily a comprehensive 'life story,' but it shows the trials and travels of a proud man who has, from humble beginnings, cultivated a life full of wisdom, love, and simple pleasures. The tracks for this album should not be treated as 'professional products,' even though I have done my best to make them both presentable and enjoyable. Instead, these are conversations that have taken place around the dinner table, in comfy chairs, and at the homes of friends and relatives. John is interviewed and joined by people who love him, and who love hearing him tell about his life. I hope that you too can find joy in these recordings.
